U.S. Pacific Command Hosts FSM President for Regional Security Discussions
During the visit, US PACOM and FSM senior officials exchanged views on recent regional developments, maritime security, cybersecurity, and evolving long-range threats affecting the Federated States of Micronesia and the broader Indo-Pacific.
They also discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen deterrence, enhance regional awareness, and support collective defense against external threats.
The visit reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to the Federated States of Micronesia under the Compact of Free Association and the importance of continued close coordination to advance a free and open Indo-Pacific.
U.S. Pacific Command is committed to enhancing stability in the Indo-Pacific region by promoting security cooperation, encouraging peaceful development, responding to contingencies, deterring aggression and, when necessary, prevailing in conflict.
